Adding Music Folders To Play Queue

When I'm browsing my music via the web app I usually use the Folder view, as I have a ton of music and its easier to navigate my collection that way. My problem is I can't find a way to add an album (a full folder) to my play queue. I can do this via any of the metadata based views by clicking the check circle and using the context menu option, but I don't have a check circle in the Folder view. It also seems that there's no way to Select All from within a folder so that I'd be able to just add the music files to the queue quickly as a work-around.

Please let me know if I'm missing something, or these features just don't exist.

Download music to laptop?

I want to download some music to my laptop from my media PC. I am on my home network and Plex/Web allows me to download TV episodes and movies but not music. Is there something I'm missing?

PLex Web not displaying correctly on IE11

When I go to channels-iTunes-playlist and choose a playlist the songs (cover art) are displayed in a single row horizontally and you are not able to scroll left and right. They used to be displayed on the whole page but something has just happened. BTW it works fine in MS Edge. Can we get a fix for this?

Web App Trailers (like Transmography)

No problem watching trailers through my Plex clients but is there a way to play trailers from the web app?

Before the trailers feature was introduced for PlexPass users I used the Transmography chrome extension to play trailers through the web app but then it stopped working. Some time passed without me using the plex web app much but now I need to use it again clean up my library and there's no trailer feature. Was it ever available for the web app? If not, is Transmography working for you?

Plex Web Player UI/UX completely sucks now! What happened??

I can't believe that with a single update, almost every single thing that makes the Plex Web player amazing is completely gone. This is the main way I watch my TV with a mouse on the coffee table and why I paid for a Plex Lifetime pass. I might as well be watching Vimeo!

Inconceivable changes:

Scroll wheel no longer changes volume when player tab is focused, you now must hover over the tiny volume bar.

During playback, the player UI doesn't minimize itself if the mouse is touching it at all, even if the mouse doesn't move for any amount of time. This forces constant reaching to move the mouse off the UI so I can enjoy my media.

Fullscreen and Exit Player buttons switched to least intuitive place imaginable.

I couldn't care less about the bugs that were also introduced. I need answers for why these boneheaded UI changes were implemented and took Plex multiple steps backwards in user experience. Please put these features back.

No buffer bar

With the newest release on Plex Web app there doesn't seem to be any buffering any longer as before. Is this able to be fixed in any way? This image shows what I'm talking about.

Your new web player is horrible. I'm not even updating my server because you are forcing this massive mistake into that update. The UI is worse, its full of bugs, it doesnt work correctly on mobile. None of these issues existed on the previous player. The one major issue your web player had, LOSS OF AUDIO SYNC WITH VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, you seem to not have addressed. What's the deal? I was very close to purchasing a plex lifetime pass so I could have better server remote access options and financially support your amazing software that I use EVERY DAY. Now tho, I can't do it in good conscience. I need to know you are going to either fix these bugs, improve the UI, or simply roll back to the previous version.

These errors are GLARING! It's as if this went tho absolutely no QA. I am not alone. I havent seen anyone who doesn't dislike this or isnt suffering these horrendous bugs. Also... how about you address the audio sync issue if you are going to spend time "fixing and improving" it. That's my rant. Someone either chime in and prove me wrong or add your disdain for 3.20.x web player. Thanks.

New Fix for Web Interface Backgrounds

You guys are doing this on purpose now, aren't you? Is there some reason why you don't want us to have nice things? I can't even fathom what you did, but in the latest update you made it so the simple CSS fix I created so we could have nice looking backgrounds the way they use to be before you changed them to the weird half backgrounds that only display at the top of the page, now causes the image to flicker weirdly and sometimes jump completely out of place. I mean how even? My CSS wasn't that complex or invasive, so either this is due to some weird bug you have introduced, or you really did break it on purpose. In any case, I have created another, somewhat more complex fix, as I will continue to do every time you break this. Unfortunately, a userscript is now required:

Please note that this new fix breaks the show/hide background button. I would have liked to keep it working, but ultimately the effort required didn't seem worth it since chances are if you want to use this fix you are going to be keeping your backgrounds displayed most of the time anyway.

Photos - 'Collection'

Hi,

 

I've recently noticed that both PlexWeb and the current Android App have an option to sort/filter photo libraries by 'Collection'.

 

However I see no way to edit Photo metadata in PlexWeb to define 'Collection' for individual photos or to bulk edit groups of photos to define a 'Collection'. 

 

What gives?

What does the error "shaka1001 (Network)" mean?

I have searched high and low and nothing explains this error.

shaka1001 (Network)

This was during playback of a television show from a Plex Cloud server (Version 1.5.2.246) using the Plex Web App (Version 3.17.3) on a Windows 10 machine in Chrome (Version 59.0.3071.115)

Any explanation as to what this error translates to?

MKV file impossible to change language :(

Hi all!
I hope you can help me on this as I was unable to find the answer within the different posts...
Here's the thing, I want to watch a movie with the web app plex (then cast it via chromecast).
The movie I have is an *.mkv which contains several languages and.. no matter what I've tried, it seems impossible to switch language :(

Has someone encountered the same thing? How did you solve it???

Circle around cast images cut head off

As the title suggest, it annoys me a bit that for a lot of movies and videos, the heads of the cast are split in two or simply cut off because of the circle around it.

The idea seems pretty, but in practice it doesn't always work.

As you can see, the first row (The Flash) isn't that elegant. The second row (Merlin) is not so bad, the third row (Gotham) is how it should be.

Of course, Plex doesn't manage the image, but it should be able to handle the image in a proper way.

Can this be solved in the future?

Playlist only displays 158 items

My playlist only displays 158 items in Chrome. Edge, and Android apps show it correctly. Cannot edit the playlist order once you add more than 158 items.

Unable to login on iOS with Chrome

When you go to login to plex web on iOS using Chrome it just sits there after entering the pass code.

Selecting to use the desktop version of the site works but obviously this should be needed.

Sync missing on playlists on web client

I am missing the option to sync a play list from the web interface. I believe it disappeared with a recent update but cannot confirm the exact timing. It is gone on both existing and new lists. Checked with a friend and he still has it but mine is just gone. Any assistance would be helpful. I can sync fine from the Android app.

Feature Request: View entire play queue in Plex Web app

I'm using the plex web app (Windows server version 0.9.12.4) to play music and cast it to a Chromecast. The "play", "play next", "add to up next" are working fine - music is playing. Yay.

After queueing up a few albums or many singles I have a long list of music in the queue. Often I want to review and modify the queue; I want to change the order of items in the queue, sometimes remove items. Basically I want to use play to DJ for a house party, etc and perhaps allow guests to update the queue as well

I found the "up next" function in the web app, and it does some of what I need. However I find it has limitations:

  • I cannot see or scroll through the whole play queue. I can only see part of the play queue
  • when there are more items in the queue than will display in the window, the items displayed are not the ones at the head of the queue. I cannot see the song that is next.

Is there a way to view and scroll through the entire play queue in the Plex Web app? I want to be able to do the following:

  • view and scroll through the entire queue
  • change the order of items in the queue
  • remove items from the queue
  • ideally I could use multiple select as well (I don't like implicit queues so often want to remove all of the songs added implicitly)

The new web player blocks subtitles

It is annoying that when changing the volume and pausing the video the bar at the bottom covers subtitles so it forces me to go back every time. The bar should be shorter, like it was before. Also, switching the fullscreen and close buttons was pretty pointless and is annoying.

Remove Deck Items

I know there are many posts addressing this issue but there seems to be no way of removing items from the deck. I know there are workarounds but they can be really annoying when it comes to series. Anyway, this seems like a basic feature and I cannot believe it's still not on the books, years after the first post concerning the issue.

 

This is almost as absurd as the lacking auto play, the fact that you have to create a playlist to achieve this is way too hacky and frankly feels redundant.

 

Seriously, if you don't have time to develop such a feature please open source the relevant part of the code so I can do it myself.

 

I like plex a lot but lack of basic features like this definitely keeps me from buying a plex pass.
