Hi, for reasons unknown, my Plex web player (using Chrome on OS X El Capitan, latest version) is suddenly skipping audio tracks. I don't mean audio stutter, I mean completely skipping. I click a track to play, Plex pauses for a second or two, then skips to the next track, and keeps skipping. I hear no audio at all.
If I use Safari (on same Mac) the audio plays. I've disabled all extensions / plugins, and have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed.
Any advice?
All of my HTPC's show up as Plex Web (Chrome) making it difficult to know which to stream to with controls. Is it currently possible to rename this? Could an option be added to the web config to define an alias. Eg Plex Web (Living Room) instead?

I'm currently running PMS 3.20.8 on Windows 10 x64
Recently i have noticed an issue when playing a playlist or shuffle on the Web app, it will not automatically play the next video.
This is happening with all video containers - MP4, AVI and MKV
When the 1st video finishes the display is dimmed and the orange spinning circle is displayed, but it wont load the next video unless i manually click the "next" button.
I did work on a previous version of PMS ( about a month or so ago)
I have tried playing a playlist shuffle on different supported browsers / devices but just end up with the spinning circle. I have also tried from the desktop the PMS is running on, still with the same issue.
I have also recently rebuilt the desktop with Windows 10 and reinstalled PMS, rebuilt the database with all default settings - but still the issue persists on all devices using the Web app player.
The only device I have that will automatically play the next video in a playlist is an old Roku Stick.

There is an issue with Plex Web for Chrome playing YouTube Watch Later videos. They just sit there loading forever.
There was an issue with PMS for Windows v1.5.2 being unable to transcode YouTube videos, but that issue has been resolved in PMS for Windows v1.5.6 and later. I know this issues is resolved because the Plex app for Roku must trancode some YouTube Watch Later videos and they play and transcode fine on the Plex app for Roku using PMS for Windows v1.5.6 or later.
The same YouTube Watch Later videos will direct play on the iOS app and transcode on the Roku app. But I have tried playing these YouTube videos in Plex Web v3.2.1, v3.4.1, and v3.6 in Chrome and they just sit there loading forever.
I even tried disabling Direct Play under Settings > Plex Web > Player, but they still will not play.
All running locally on Win10. Local files, local PMS, local TV/Soundbar via HDMI.
Have I done something wrong? I've been on Plex Media Server for ~6 years, as long as I can remember anyway. And I'd swear I got full surround sound in the past without fighting it. I recently switched my wiring to go through my SoundBar first, then TV so Win10 gives me proper DTS/Dolby support. But now Plex Web App is only stereo.
Anyone else face this and know how to solve it? The 'Plex App' on Win10 is ok, but it lacks way too many of the features I desire from the full web interface.

few minutes ago I update my server from 1.9.2 to 1.9.4 and my Web App shows now the version 3.20.7 (instead of the latest 3.21.2).
If I log into appl.plex.tv I can see the 3.21.2 there, but not on my own server. Even a complete restart of the plex server and using another webbrowser changed nothing.
Any ideas?

I just want to listen to my music...
Now, when I play an album, the first track plays just fine, but when it goes to play track 2, it fails with the "shaka3016 (Media)" error...
Now, if I hit the previous, then next buttons, the track plays just fine...
I've followed this guide to no avail.
This all used to work just fine, pre the "new and improved player", which I still think is awful for video playback (double-escape no longer closes player; I HAVE to have my cursor over the video for the "chrome" to go away [can't have it in the corner anymore]).
On October 24, 2017, the Plex app will be removed from the Chrome Web Store. Google no longer supports Chrome apps on Windows, Mac, and Linux, and in early 2018, apps including the Plex app will no longer load on those platforms.

We'll continue to support Plex on many Chromebooks with the Android app found in the Google Play Store, and with the web app in your browser at https://app.plex.tv. If you prefer a standalone app on Windows and Mac, Plex Media Player can be used as well, which offers the same interface and a better player experience than Chrome.
Is there a way to either make the bottom bar transparent again (at least I think it was transparent, I've never noticed this issue before) or to significantly speed up the time it takes to hide the bottom bar? It's making it annoyingly difficult to watch foreign movies.
EDIT: I just looked at the local player (ip-address:32400/web/index) and it's not because the bar is transparent, but because it is significantly smaller than the new bar, which is why it doesn't block subtitles.
Pick any application on a PC, Mac, Android (except Plex web app). Open it and look in the upper right hand corner of that window. Maybe even open a few... Check that upper right corner.
Now open the Plex Web App. And recall what used to be in that upper right corner vs. what's in the right hand corner now.
I'm still in the habit of going to the upper right to close a currently playing show or movie and going to the lower right to go or leave full screen.
Please find whoever thought this was a good idea and dump a bunch of glitter into his office chair for me.

Been trying to clean up my Plex library, but having some issues with the delete capability. Tried a variety of options (documented later), to no avail.
Setup:
1. Using Plex/Web running on Mac OS/X. Server version is 0.9.16.0
2. Content is stored on a Readynas Pro 6, shared via CIFS. All data stored in the Media share, with all objects set to nouser:nogroup, with all files chmod'ed to 777
3. Can delete from Mac Finder, but not working from Plex/Web
Tried:
1. Chmoding/chowning all files
2. Deleted library and recreated/rescanned
Could not find any relevant entries in the logs, but maybe I'm not looking in the right spot.
I was playing with hardware transcoding and I noticed that even if I enabled subtitles on Plex web on Opera, the video was not transcoded and indeed the info page showed it as "direct play". It didn't work like that before, so is now direct play of subtitles available in Plex web? Maybe this will bring the same feature to Opera TV enabled smart TVs?
For almost a year now, PMS has had language filters available through its API. But we have yet to see this implemented in any Plex client. Since Plex Web is the the primary place to get your library organized, it would be the best place to start see these implemented.

I've been using Safari to play videos on my iPad due to the bug that breaks video on iOS 11. I just started it up tonight and saw the new interface which looks great.
Unfortunately, when I start playing a movie, there are a few issues. The fullscreen button which is supposed to be next to the cast button (at least it is on my laptop) is nowhere to be found, and the video doesn't even quite take up the full page (not to mention leaving all of the Safari chrome at the top of the screen. The black bars are just me covering up tabs/bookmarks):
Hey, I use Plex to help me get to sleep, and it was perfect because it would shut off automatically after 2 hours and let me get good sleep. As of one of the recent updates, it will now play forever, which is no longer useful to me. I assume this is a bug because https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/202605013-Play-Queue-Post-Play-Screen still says that it's supposed to stop after 2 hours, but I don't see anywhere to even report a bug here, seems like we have to figure out our own issues. Anyone have any ideas on how to make plex stop playing after two hours?
Every time I go to the plex web app remotely it shows in playback settings that the quality is either "Convert(0.7mbps, 328p)", "Convert(0.3mbps, 240p)", or "Convert(0.2mbps, 160p)". and this happens no matter what I put my settings for the server or user settings. I am at the most updated version of plex web and plex media server.
I've looked everywhere on all players, and I've looked at all of the server settings. I've also combed the knowledge base, the forums, and the internet as a whole, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to make songs not resume from where they were when last played.
I would like each song to start from the beginning every time I play them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I'm on the server that hosts my Plex server on Chrome why am I freezing? The only way to fix the issue is to close the video and reopen it. Rather annoying.
