Hi everyone, I'm new to these forums and I know questions like these have been asked a bunch - I've been browsing them, but I haven't found a solution that works so I'm asking for some expert advice.

I can't add new media. When I first created the share, everything added fine even though it was all named improperly. I added files and they weren't recognized, so I put them in their own folders and changed the names appropriately. I've triple checked the permissions and that's fine. I cleared the trash on the web interface and re-analyzed but still doesn't pick anything up.

What does work is creating an entirely new folder and copy/pasting the media into that. The new location is able to be read properly and my media is discovered, but adding new media to this folder breaks in the same way the old ones did. Now I need to create and copy over all of my media every time I add something which isn't really a good long term solution.

As with any kind of forum like these, thanks for any help!

tl;dr Have to crate a new media folder to add new media.

I've signed into the forum for the first time in my years of using Plex just to complain about this. I'm not the type to typically post in forums, but I have to complain about this.

The new UI / player bar is horrible. Here are some terrible changes.

• Old scroll volume control is gone, and now you have to scroll volume on the tiny volume bar. I have a dual monitor setup and this new volume control thing is extremely annoying. I've read the discussions that plex "has received complaints" about the old way, but I find it very hard to believe that those complaints represent a majority of users. Many popular media players use the old method of scrolling anywhere on the application to control volume. MPC and VLC to name two giant ones. And before anyone mentions Youtube, they have that particular scroll control because there is something else on the page to scroll down TO.
• For some reason, closing the video is now either on the top left or bottom right depending on how you want to exit. For most applications, the button to close is 99 times out of 100 on the top right.
• The new bar is too big and opaque. This is especially a pain when watching something with subtitles.
• The seek bar itself blends in too well to the player bar. It took me a few minutes to realize it was even there.

Honestly this new UI has me just using MPC from now on until something changes, I find a way to downgrade, or I find a better alternative. The new UI is just not as intuitive at all nor as good as the previous one. I'm expecting this to be my only post on the forums so think of this as my slip of paper into the suggestion/complaint box.

When trying to View XML of a recording in Safari on my iMac (maxOS 10.13.4 High Sierra) I just get a blank page; when I do the same in Firefox on my iMac I see the XML.

I had some movies in Plex with an entry in the collections. The new feature for collections created a separate poster/thumbnail for the collections and when clicked on opened a window with links to all those movies that are part of the collection. However, I do not care for this extra thumbnail in my library and I would like to remove it. I can't seem to get rid of it. I removed the entries from each of the movies for the collection. The collection thumbnail now show 0 movies. I have re-scanned the libraries, cleaned the bundles, emptied the trash, optimized and shutdown and restarted the Plex Media Server and the thumbnail for the collections is still there. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to remove this extra thumbnail?

Anyone else notice issues when using a touchscreen laptop and the web UI? I noticed trying to click on the mark as watched icon, it would throw some are you sure dialog which immediately would disappear.

Feature Request: Make the arrow keys act the same on the web app as the media player.

I use the web app to watch a lot of my media while on the computer. so it's a bit frustrating that the arrow keys skip to the next episode, when every other player will skip ahead a certain number of seconds when you press the arrow keys (thinking of the apple TV, and the media player app on the computer). Also youtube and a lot of other video sites on the internet use the arrow keys to skip ahead a few seconds as well. It would just be nice to have some consistency.

Added an "Allow Channels" restriction for shared users. Requires Plex Media Server 0.9.12.5.

I just saw the above, are shared channels a thing now?

Out of curiosity, is this something that's on the to-do list? Was just looking at my select user page and added the following to CSS and user-switch-page for fun;

First off, yes I do know where the Fix Match option is located, I've been using Plex for a long time now and after this latest update it seems to have simply disappeared from my options

I am trying to fix a match for the specials season of my Doctor Who (1963) series, and I have the episode/filepath named accordingly

J:\Doctor Who\Doctor Who\Specials\Doctor Who - S00E24 - Daleks Invasion Earth 2150 AD (1966).avi

This is in following with how THIS special should be named according to TheTVDB (it's episode 24 of the specials season), however it is getting placed within a season that Plex is considering to be part of some series called PBS Specials. There is no metadata however, it is simply being placed within this incorrect series and I cannot fix it. I would prefer, as well, to not have to empty and reclassify everything within the Doctor Who folder because, whenever I do, a large number of episodes get misattributed to other shows and I have to rectify every single one manually

Also related, I have no season within my Doctor Who series labeled Specials. How can I fix this as well?

I'm suddenly seeing the message "There was an unexpected error loading this library" when trying to view my TV section in Plex Web. I have no such problems viewing the section in Plex Media Player or the iOS app. I'm running the current version of the server (1.4.4.3495), restarting it didn't solve the problem.

I've noticed when I keep a Plex tab open the show unwatched count doesn't seem to update where as the season count does.
Refreshing the page does fix the issue.

Notice the "24" in the screenshot.

New Plex Web release added signal strength, but can't seem to find it.

Looking at the release notes for 3.52.1 for PlexWeb, one of the features states:

Added signal strength to channels in Live TV Setup and Manage Channels

I launched the Plex Web app via http://app.plex.tv and verified it's the latest version, however have checked both those areas and did not see anything. I tried with an existing WinTV Quad HD and adding a HDhomerun Extend. Can somebody show me where I should be seeing this?

Very excited for this feature, hoping in the future it will be something incorporated into the clients to see signal strength when viewing Live TV.

Can't get any videos (live or recorded) to display in Google Chrome web browser. (Get sound though)

Videos play just fine in MS Edge browser on same computer.

Any ideas?

Plex Web v3.52.2 (via plex.tv)
PMS v1.11.0.4666

The Status icon is missing for accounts on my Plex Home other than my admin account. I can still visit the status page by navigating directly to its url: https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/status but I can't click anywhere to get there.

This means that the Sync Status page: https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/status/sync is not easily available on Plex Web for the other accounts my family and I regularly use. Items synced to a device from a certain account only show up on that account's Sync status page. So having access to it is important.

Very happy for the playlist function to have finally arrived, but would it be possible within playlists to have the usual movie sorting options, "Date added", "Date released", "Name", "Rating", "Resolution" and "Duration" just like in the standard movies view?

I can see how one can select individual songs to a playlist, but there doesn't seem to be an option to add an entire folder to a playlist or to a play queue or to be able to just shuffle play the folder. Does anyone know how to do this?

VLC has an option to align video e.g. to the bottom of the screen. This is very handy e.g. when using a 4:3 aspect ratio projector with a 16:9 video.
How can one position the Plex Web App or Windows Player video on the bottom of the screen?

Ever since the implementation of the new transcoder subtitle files are constantly crashing the transcoder.

For example if you have a subtitle showing within the first minute of a file, crash.

There are also other situations crashing the transcoder but I am not sure specifically what in the subtitles is crashing it. Prior to this forced transcoder flip to the new transcoder. (which seemed to align with the plex web app interface update) I only had like 1 file I couldn't play because of ridiculous coding for a karaoke for an anime. Which made sense. However simply having a blank sub line within the first second. Does not make sense and needs to be fixed.
