New user here. Having issues with fast forward and resume functions. I'll try to give plenty of info.
Computer is HP that is a few years old but has 8GB ram and quad core processor. All videos are on external drives, USB2.0 and play fine using VLC media player. Using a Belkin router that is less than 2 months old, model AC1200 DB AC+.
When I first installed plex I was using a separate audio card with optical out running to my home theater reciever and the standard VGA plug to my 60 inch plasma. Everything worked fine. I could fast forward and resume from any point in the videos. I recently switched to an Invidia Video card with HDMI. I'm running the HDMI into my receiver, and then running from the receiver to the TV. I'm not absolutely posiitve this is when my problem started but I think so.
I get the message about my connection to the server is not fast enough for streaming but this is on the server with direct connection to the hard drives. I'm not real savvy about how Plex works through my browser. Does it still send everything over the network even when when the computer is connected directly to the drives containing the videos?
Also, when watching a video, I am constantly getting the little buffering circle in the center of the screen. It's only for a half second at a time, but it occurs about every 5 seconds and is annoying. Originally, before these problems, I noticed it would take about 5-10 seconds for the buffering bar at the bottom of the screen to completely fill up all the way across. Now, I notice that at most it it only buffering 5-10 seconds ahead of what is playing.
